I have had both blog platforms, if I had to index really quickly - like if I had an affiliate program and there was a guru launch I would use blogger. Wordpress sure is prettier, but more cumbersome. My hosting site installed it for me, for a beginner I found it quite hard. I think the idea is to decide what the focus of the blog is going to be, what widgets are necessary etc. PS - I have adsense on my wordpress blog, and blogger now allows yous to post in the future, so those differentiations have blurred.
