This book is a real story about a little Shih Tzu that had disk herniation, got the surgery and recovered. Because the online resources for owners that have puppies with the same problems are almost impossible to find and because I wish to offer the little guy a good life with the donations received I wrote this ebook.

You can buy this ebook with 5$.

You will get:

Thanks for posting your story and keep the updates coming as it’s good to know things don’t move as quickly as some vets say.
My Labrador had the same thing happen and it’s been 10 days since his operation, he’s now able to urinate by himself but can’t support himself on his front legs. He’s a heavy dog so helping him up and taking him out in the garden is no easy task. The vet says he should be walking within 4-6 weeks but to me it seems it will taking a lot longer but I’m hoping I’m wrong.

    Thanks again

Hello Ricky, the vets can be over confident some times. I think it’s important to keep your dog motivated and even if it’s hard maybe you can ask somebody to help you (once or twice) to take him out and see how he reacts. Make sure he’s not in any pain from the movement. If he is able to urinate that is a great sign. Good luck.

I have a 10 yr old silky terrier who just this Thursday had this problem, first of all just a bit of difficulty walking like he is drunk them two hours later he cannot stand on the back legs,on Friday he had ex-rays and injections for 2 herniated disks but its now Sunday and although he is eating and drinking he has not pooped but has had a few wees but unfortunately he has done this in his sleep mat.I am hoping that in time he will come good until then he is back to the vet this Wednesday but might just drop in Monday to check that this normal for him so far.he is on a pain killer and antiflamitory tablets…fingers crossed!

I just wanted to share how much I appreciate reading this. My dog went into this same surgery several hours ago. We got the news it was 2 disks and he has awaken from the surgery 5 hours ago. Your information has given me an idea what our next 6 months and so forth are going to be like. We have been seeing our vet every other day for an eye injury so she has been right on top of his symptoms from the beginning. Last night we went info a check up and not sure if his lack of being able to stand was due to pain meds or not. She was on the phone with a neurologist at the hospital and they got us in 3 hours away this morning for the MRI then straight into surgery. I appreciate knowing the depth and breath of work ahead of us for recovery.
