Benny Bear Learns to Share
In a cozy corner of the Whispering Woods, where pine trees hummed lullabies and berries grew in rainbow clusters, there lived a young bear named Benny. Benny had soft brown fur, round curious eyes, and a tummy that rumbled like distant thunder.
Benny loved many thingsāchasing butterflies, splashing in the stream, and climbing trees. But most of all, Benny loved honey. Golden, sticky, sweet honey that made his paws sticky and his heart happy.
One sunny morning, Benny found the biggest honeycomb he'd ever seen! It hung from an old oak tree, dripping with golden sweetness. Benny's eyes grew wide, and his mouth watered.

Mine! Benny said, hugging the tree trunk. All mine!
He climbed up carefully and reached the honeycomb. He was about to take his first bite whenāHello, Benny! chirped Pip, a little squirrel. That looks delicious!
Benny quickly hid the honeycomb. It's mine, he said. I found it first.
Pip's ears drooped. Oh. Okay. I just thought... maybe we could share?
No, Benny said, shaking his head. My honey.
Pip scampered away, looking sad. Benny felt a little pinch in his chest, but he pushed it away. The honey was too good to share!
Benny ate and ate until his tummy was round and full. But then he looked at the honeycomb again. There was still so much leftāmore than he could ever eat!

As Benny climbed down, he saw Pip sitting with his head in his paws. Next to him was a little squirrel friendāNutmegāwith big hungry eyes.
I'm sorry, Nutmeg, Pip was saying. I couldn't find any food today.
Benny felt that pinch in his chest again, but this time it was bigger. He remembered how happy honey made him feel. Shouldn't he want others to feel that happiness too?
Benny took a deep breath and walked over. Pip? he said softly.
Pip looked up, surprised. Oh! Benny. I didn't mean to bother you about the honey.
Benny held out the honeycomb. I... I want to share, he said. His voice was shaky, but his heart felt lighter. There's too much for just me. And sharing feels better than eating alone.

Pip's eyes sparkled. Really? Oh, thank you, Benny!
Nutmeg's little nose twitched with excitement. Honey! I've never had honey before!
The three friends sat together under the oak tree. Benny broke the honeycomb into pieces, giving the biggest piece to Nutmeg. The honey was sticky and sweet, and somehow, it tasted even better than when Benny ate alone.
They laughed as honey dripped on their noses. Benny learned that Pip could make acorn whistles, and Nutmeg did a funny dance that made them all giggle.
Benny, Pip said, this is the best honey I've ever had. Not because it's sweet, but because we shared it together.
Benny smiled, and this time his smile was bigger than his full tummy. I think that sharing makes everything better. Even honey.
From that day on, Benny still loved finding honey. But he loved something even moreāfinding friends to share it with. And whenever his tummy rumbled for honey, his heart rumbled even louder for friendship.
